Hey guys! Back again with another update on my new sound replacement project! This week Richard and I finally got into the C24 for our first studio session! Although this session was relatively short, we still managed to set-up the session, crop and strip the audio from the video and begin the sound replacement!
The C24 studio
The C24 studio at SAE Institute is the golden go-to place for everything post-production. This will most likely be the place where we create most to all of our sounds unless it becomes unavailable due to other students booking it or if its under maintenance. Below you'll find some photos of what it looks like!

Unlike most studios, the C24's control room is quite large whilst its live room is rather small, as you can from the images above. The reason for this is that an overly large live room isn't entirely necessary for recording close up sounds and basic foley. A large live room could also create unwanted room sounds, which can be difficult to deal with.
Current Progress
As I mentioned in the intro, as this session was rather short we simply worked on getting the foundations together such as setting up our Pro Tools session, setting markers on important moments/scenes and begin replacing the audio. If we didn't have a time limit on how much time we could book or had other commitments outside of uni, Richard and I would be sitting in there for hours and hours working on this. However, the benefit to us in this project is that we don't necessarily have to book studios to complete this project unless we are recording. The rest can be edited and processed on an everyday computer, as long as it has Pro Tools.
To finish
Granted, it wasn't a very significant update today but this is only the beginning of what is to come over the next 3 weeks. This week coming, this project is going to be focused on heavily to get as much done as possible so stay tuned for that! The next blog to come this weekend is my next update on my bass house project and how that's coming along so far!
Until next time!
