Hey guys! As promised, here is the second of the many blogs to come this week! Towards the end of my last blog post, I said that I would be writing many more blogs this week in terms of new projects, side projects and copyright! I figured why not start with one of the big ones first to get the ball rolling!

project 2...

My second major project for uni is going to be an interdisciplinary collaboration project between myself, Jackson Mayberry (audio student) and Cameron McClean (animation student). For the project, Cam has been assigned the task of animating a character of his choosing running through an obstacle course of his creation. In this case, he has chosen to animate the very well known character, Master Chief from the Halo franchise. For those of you who aren't familiar with who Master Chief is or are unaware of what he looks like, a picture of his figure will be supplied below!

the audio side of things

In terms of audio for the project, Jackson and I will be creating/writing the soundtrack, adding sound effects as well as using sampling where necessary. Over the course of the next four weeks, Jackson and I will be in the studio as much as is humanly possible to really keep up to speed with Cam! In fact, our first session is commencing this week on Sunday afternoon! At this point, considering that the animation will be based in space in mostly low-gravity areas, we're currently leaning towards a slow, dark, electronic sort of feel. However, this is not yet completely decided as our first meeting as a team will be on this Sunday in our first session!

Where we're at currently

Considering that we are nearing the end of pre-production, there is currently no major news I can really tell you guys as of yet. However, similarly to the last project, I will also be leading this one! I learn't a lot from my previous experiences as a group leader and I've come to realise that practice makes for damn good progress! So to say that I'm keen to get started is an understatement! This blog is more of a part 1/introduction to the project as there will be much more to tell you guys at the end of this week after our first studio session on the weekend! So stay tuned and I will catch ya in the next blog for this week!
