Guys! We're actually doing it, we're drawing closer and closer to the end by the day! With just two weeks left to go at uni this trimester I've had a fair bit on but I'm getting really close to finally having it all done! Let's get into this week's update shall we?
G House Side Project - Who Am I?
completed
As I mentioned in my last updates blog, by the time you guys are reading this, 'Who Am ?' will have been out for you guys to listen to already! This track was incredibly fun to make although I think ya boi went a little too hard on the master... (surprise, surprise). Anyway, if you guys are keen on some bassy, g house vibes click the link below!

The artwork for this track was also done by a very talented animator by the name of Danae Lowe! Gotta say, huge respect to all of the designers & animators I've worked with over the course of this trimester at uni. Their grind for projects and collaborations is so impressive and the fact that they can produce such quality works of art in a matter of days astounds me.
'Who Am I?' track artwork by Danae Lowe

For this track, considering it's rather dark and almost gangsta kind of feel with the male vocals, I decided that there should be a male character featured in the artwork. Danae then edited the artwork, adding glitches and a large repetition of 'Who Am I?' in small text out the back of picture, which I found pretty awesome.
Chase Johnstone WIP Mixes
As you saw in my previous blog, Richard, Kevin and I recorded vocals, guitar and bass for chase's two track EP. After having my hands tied for a few days with gigs and other outside commitments I was finally able to sit down and smash out two WIP Mixes for my drum session with Kevin this week. The drums in these tracks however are going to be rather small. In fact, after discussing it with Kevin further last week we decided an entire kit may not even be necessary. This should allow for a quick set-up/pack-up time and depending on how quickly Kevin can nail takes (which I have no doubt won't be long), backing vocals performed by myself will also be recorded in this session. This was all communicated with Chase by myself in the last week and we have the green light which I am rather keen on. Having Chase in the studio again was a rather fun experience and I found it very easy to communicate with him both as a friend and an artist as we both come from similar musical backgrounds.
To wrap up
Funny how these blogs have gotten progressively smaller over time isn't it? Well ladies and gentlemen I'm very pleased to say that the next updates blog will be the last one for the trimester, wrapping everything I've done up into one post mortem. But before that goes down you can be sure as hell that there are plenty more blogs on their way about how I master, mixing in 5.1 for the first time and finally having a go at Melodyne and Izotope RX7! Stay tuned!
