Alrighty guys! Kicking off the new week with a fresh start! Here's my first of a few more blogs to come this week! Considering that I've already introduced two of my other major projects, I thought that I might as well introduce you guys to my second side project, being my third major project! Let's begin!
House music all night long
Ever since I became a Dj/Producer and started exploring the jungle of sub-genre's that is electronic music, I've come to find that I have an undying love for house music, specifically deep/bass house. Now although that sounds like a very stereotypical Dj thing to say, unfortunately it's not all about the head banging and raging in clubs. I've always found myself extremely fascinated by the creation of sound and synthesis and this has amplified since I started studying at university. As you guys have seen before, I created a future/chill remix with Richard Woodhouse for my first project and that was incredible learning experience for me. However, although creating melodies and chords with wavetable synthesis is very fun and interesting, I've always wanted to know how to create a track out of mainly bass lines and bass synthesis. This project is going to be where I start in the genre I love the most and take this from being outside of my comfort zone to being one of my favoured abilities.
the reference track...
This one was actually quite a hard decision to make as I'm quite fond of a lot different bass types when it comes to listening to bass house music. However, there is one track that has been standing out to me a lot recently and funnily enough, its a remix of the classic bass house banger - Deep Down Low by Valentino Khan. This remix was created by a Dj/Producer known as Styline and I've listed it below for anyone who's just as keen on this sort of stuff as I am!
The main reason that I chose this track as a reference for my project as it has a lot of difference bass synths that I've heard in tracks that my influences have created. I'm also looking to do my best in replicating these sounds as well as I can whilst also putting my own spin on them where I can!
To finish
To say that I'm keen to start this project is massive understatement as I've wanted to do this for a long time. Now that I've been given a chance to demonstrate my progression in electronic music production throughout this trimester I don't plan on wasting it. Just the same as the others, watch this space and keep up to date with how I'm going with this one. Can't wait to show you guys when it's done! Catch ya next time!
