The Return - Round 2

Hey guys! Long time no see! I know, its been a while but its ok, I'm back! As of now, I have officially entered trimester 5 of 6 in my audio degree! So insane to think I've come this far already and I can't wait to show you guys what I have in store for these few months! But for now, let's get into where I've been and what I've been up to!

Resting

Unlike the break in between my last two trimesters at uni, I spent a lot of time resting after such a crazy, jam packed trimester. However, this did leave me with a little bit of guilt as I didn't really create anything while I wasn't at uni. I usually like to utilise my breaks to get a head start on the next trimester but I guess that kind of defeats the purpose of a break right? Although this isn't to say that I just sat down and did nothing for 3 weeks as I had a few gigs to play!

Gigs

Over the course of the break I was lucky enough to play a couple of gigs. One of them being paid and the other being an event for my college which I played for free. Either way, its always been about the music and vibes for me, being paid to do what I love is just an added bonus. However, this is not to say that money is not useful as while I was playing at one of my gigs, I had a person spill their drink on my laptop and fry it. This then lead me to have to spend all of the money I had saved to get a new one to play the gig I had the following weekend (which was paid thank god).

Although, I actually found this scenario rather useful as I was well overdue for a new laptop and the one I was using was absolutely infected with viruses and bugs. In addition to this I also needed a laptop which could support my first DAW - Ableton Live 10 Suite, which my previous laptop could not do. Needless to say, I'm

finally back on track and ready to rip in this coming trimester and you can bet your ass new music is coming your way real soon!

The Rage Game

The Rage Game is a DJ mix series I recently started over the break which has surprisingly pulled a bit of traction and done rather well since its beginning. The goal for it is to release a new mix (Level) every 3 weeks on my Soundcloud with the music I have been listening to and enjoying lately. So far it has been really useful to me as it has pushed me outside my comfort zones in DJing and taken me into different genres which I don't usually mix. Changes - blogging format

Since my last trimester at uni, I had time to reflect on my blogs over the break. I came to realise that there was actually an absolute shit tonne of them and the sheer quantity of them wasn't actually necessary and I found myself writing lots of blogs but not actually having much to talk about. Therefore, the blogs that will be coming out this trimester will be in weekly summaries. This way, you guys can still keep up to date with everything I've been up to and not have to deal with my spam ;).

To finish

Overall, I had a great break but there's always a point where you have to step back in to reality and to be honest, I've never been more keen! As I said earlier, there are big things in the works for the coming months and to say I'm excited is an understatement. Although with this being said, its going to be crazy hard work, time to get back on the grind! Until next time!
