Using VocalSynth2 to Make Your Vocals Thicker

Hey guys! Back again with another blog! Today I thought I'd step more out of the bass world and into the realm of vocals, considering they're something I really like to work with. More specifically, I'll be discussing iZotope's plugin known as VocalSynth2 and how it can be used to make your vocals sound super wide and awesome in the mix. Let's jump right in!
First off, what is VocalSynth 2?
To put it simply, VocalSynth2 is basically a Vocoder plugin on steroids. The amount of presents available is ridiculous and all of them create a unique sound. These sounds can also be layered just like a standard synth (thus the name) to make even harder hitting sounds. Depending on what the producer is aiming for, they can either add layers to the vocal for width or even turn vocals into an instrument to use in an electronic drop!
Using it to make thick vocals
Now getting to the overall point of this blog, one of the easiest ways to make your vocals thicker using VocalSynth2 is to first plug it on to the vocal (thanks for stating the obvious -.-) and then choose the desired effect (e.g PolyVox, BioVox etc.). From this, you can then add MIDI instruments such as Piano and Wavetable synths (Massive, Serum etc) underneath the vocal and copy the MIDI data from these instruments into a new track. This new track containing the MIDI data can then be routed out to VocalSynth2 which modulates the vocal using the MIDI data. Now, depending on how many layers you have in both VocalSynth2 and in the MIDI track in general, your vocals will gain width. This exact method can be seen demonstrated by the Producer of Dua Lipa's 'New Rules' - Ian Kirkpatrick in a video below!

Overall
Although I don't actually own this plugin I soon will and from what I've seen, the possibilities are endless. As Ian Kirkpatrick said in the video, there is so much you can do just by fooling around that it's actually easy to stumble upon something no one has ever done before. I hope you guys found this one useful!
Until Next time!
