Hey guys! Long time no see! As you may have noticed, I've been off the radar for a little while and haven't been blogging as much. I finally reached the end of my third trimester at uni and eventually short circuited for a little bit and decided to take a break. But its all good now, cause I'm back and better than ever! Over the course of my last trimester at uni I learnt so many things about synthesis and the production of electronic music as a whole. Funnily enough, even though I said I took a break, in reality I was still in the studio working on my future projects which I will eventually be sharing with you guys over the next few months! So without further ado, lets jump into season two of Levels Blogs!

My new projects
As I was saying before, over the course of my uni break I got up to some really exciting things in the studio! The first of these was a remix I started working on with a very talented musician and a good friend of mine, Johan Kuyler. Johan approached me towards the end of the trimester and
asked to work on this remix for his assignment and when I found out what kind of project this was going to turn into, to say I was excited was an understatement.
As Johan is a classical musician majoring mainly within the instruments of piano and violin, he tends to listen to and perform a lot of classical music. However, over the course of the last year Johan has begun teaching himself the organ and has taken to it rather quickly. Needless to say, the song he requested for us to remix was none other than Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor. At first I felt rather intimidated however, once Johan had revealed to me that he was actually rather confident in playing this masterpiece, our first studio session ran smoother than ever. Over the course of 3 weeks, Johan and I hustled to get into the studio at least once or twice a week whilst working around each other's schedules. If you guys are keen on listening to it, I'll list the link to the demo version which is on my SoundCloud at the moment! Although this project has a long way to go as of yet, the potential for it is phenomenal and really excites me and this brings me to the end of my first side project for this trimester at uni!
But Levels, what happened to the bass house track you promised us??
Now heres where I get into the juicy stuff, as I said in my deep house project blog last trimester, I would eventually get around to making the music I truly love after my other projects were done. Well there's really no way I can bullshit my way out of this one, I finished my other projects and ran out of time so I never wound up getting around to it. However, this is not to say that it's been scrapped rather, its the exact opposite. Now that I have finished a demo for my project with Johan and my other projects from last trimester are out of the way, I have finally begun to work on my first deep house banger! below you'll find the first session screenshot of this blog series!

So don't worry guys, she's on the way and looking prettier than ever already! This may sound strange but even though this is only my first deep/bass house track project, I already feel somewhat at home in this genre and am really excited to see what I can come up with for you guys! Speaking of the deep/bass house genre, that will actually be the topic of my next blog so stick around for that one later this week! I'll be going far in to what makes the sound of this genre and what it takes to create a track within it! Until next time!
Levels out ;)
